About Christine

The story behind Porchlight Devotionals

I write for women in the seasons nobody prepares you for.

I came back to Christ after more than twenty five years away, and everything here comes out of that return and what it cost me. I have never written about a season I have not lived in, which is the only reason I think these are worth handing to anyone.

I read my Bible most days. I have spent years serving in my church and in ministries outside it, I run a business, and I am writing a memoir slowly.

Why Porchlight Devotionals?

This work is rooted in Reformed theology—in the beautiful reality of God's sovereignty, His grace, and His persistent love. These devotionals aren't written from a distance. They come from real seasons of struggle, loss, faith, and restoration.

The porch light is a symbol—it's the light that welcomes you home, that says "come as you are." That's what I want these devotionals to be: a space where you can be honest about where you are, and find Scripture and grace meeting you exactly there.

The Devotionals

Each 30-day devotional walks through a specific season—faith in hard places, restoration after failure, waiting when you want answers, serving when you're tired. The small group guides make these devotionals communal. These are meant to be walked through with other women, to create space for the conversations churches don't always know how to have.
